Welcome to Whisper In Her Soul!
I am so very excited and humbled that you're here. You are about to embark on a journey with me that will inspire your soul, enrich your life and lead you onto a path of finding your own voice and story.
I'm Leah Koschak, a 28 year old from the frozen tundra, Minnesota. I was born and raised in Minnesota, but I lived in Fargo, North Dakota for almost 1/3 of my life before making the recent decision to move back to Minnesota. So Fargo really does have a special place in my heart.
And no, Fargo isn't anything like the movie or TV show. The accent was a bit over-exaggerated. Although I will admit there are people that tend to carry out the "O" sound a bit longer than they should. Ya know? 😉
So why did I move back to Minnesota?
I needed a change of pace. I had been living around the same people and same backdrop for years and I was craving a new adventure. My daughter was just about to start Kindergarten so that was a big deciding factor in moving now, not later.
Besides, I have always loved everything that Minneapolis has to offer. It has the lakes, the city, the shopping, endless fun events and all the amazing people and new growth opportunities.
If you end up making it over this direction, trust me... you will have a blast, regardless of the time of year. Just googling "What to do in Minneapolis?", you'll find countless pages upon pages of fun and exciting things to do or check out.
So far, this move has been the best decision I've ever made for my family.
Now speaking of which, allow me to brag up my awesome fam for a quick min!
This sweet (not so little) girl is 7 years old. Her name is Braelyn. You'll get to know more about her as we go on this journey together. She is one you definitely want to get to know. Her personality shines through every picture she takes. Her energy is contagious. And I love being her mom.
Before meeting my now husband, Marc... I was a single mom for 3 1/2 years. Believe me when I say it wasn't easy. Having to be the mom and the dad was exhausting. But I got through it. I am so grateful of all the support I had from so many of those around me. I think that's a big part of what God does. He never abandons and never forsakes. He has promises for our lives that are bigger than we can imagine. Even though the road was dark at times and I couldn't see past the tear filled nights and uncertainty... I am in such a more beautiful place. And I thank God for being so gracious to allow a second chance at life and love. Marc is an amazing man, who is playing the dad role in ways I could never have expected. And I really mean it when I say this; blood means nothing. He treats Braelyn just as if she were his own. And that... is such a beautifully unique thing.
These pictures were from our engagement shoot. We thought it would be special to include Braelyn in some of our pictures. If you can't tell, she was definitely loving up the idea!
And I've gotta give a shout out! Our photographer was Kirsten Tolkkinen. She was such a gem and captured so many beautiful photos of our family.
Marc and I got married on July 21, 2017 at a beautiful outdoor garden venue called Camrose Hill in Stillwater. Wedding planning was so much fun and seeing the day come together as it did, was a dream.
This adorable little white furball is Murphy. He's 2 years old, and he is the fluffiest, cutest little turd ever. He loves to be chased. And if that means he has to grab something he's not supposed to have...then that's exactly what he'll do. He's 1/2 Lhasa Apso, 1/4 Chihuahua and 1/4 Sheltie. What a fun mix!
I am forever blessed to call these humans (and furbaby) my family.
That's my family in a nutshell!
I am excited to share more stories of our family adventures and get to know YOU and your family!
So...the reason I created this blog is simple really. I have a story. And I want to share that story. And all of my life experiences, so far. I want to inspire you to find your story. And live out your purpose. And not be afraid to take chances. And to feel worthy of your hopes and goals and dreams.
In my first blog post I share with you the story that inspired this new journey. It was an experience I would never wish upon anyone, but it was necessary for me to find my voice. And to allow me to stand up for my life and push forward. I hope this story, my story, brings forth a light in your life. And allows you to look within yourself, and find the whisper in your own soul. Read my first blog post here.
I appreciate you taking the time to get to know me. I also, am looking forward to getting to know you. After all, we are on this journey together.
